What is Honda Sensing?

Honda Sensing is Honda's unique intelligent safety system that alerts drivers to things they might miss on the road like swerving, other vehicles, road signs, and more! The Honda Sensing suite uses sensors and cameras to detect lanes lines as well as other cars around you on the road. The Honda Sensing suite also has a multitude of products that come standard in most 2017 and 2018 Honda vehicles! Scroll down to learn more about all the Honda Sensing suite advanced safety features.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Lane Departure Warning detects unindicated lane departures from your detected lane. An audio and visual alert will go off when you exit your lane without signaling. These alerts will grab your attention so you don't continue to drift into another lane.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
If your vehicle starts to stray from the center of your detected lane without signaling then the steering adjusts to keep you in the center of the lane.

Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
If the vehicle detects that you are drifting too close to the side of the road without activating your turn signal, the RDM alerts you with rapid steering wheel vibrations. It can also provide delicate steering input and/or apply braking to help keep you on the road.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Adaptive Cruise Control help you keep a set following distance on the highway so you don't have to continue to manually change your speed. And some vehicles have Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow to make it easier to drive in light traffic.

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
CMBS will help brake the vehicle when it senses that an unavoidable collision with a vehicle detected in front of you is about to occur.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
The FCW is integrated with the Collision Mitigation Braking System as it uses a small camera mounted at the top of a windshield to detect vehicles in front of your. Once the FCW system detects and determines that you are at risk of a collision it activates both visual and audio alerts to warn you. If you do not act then the CMBS system automatically applies brake pressure.

As you can see, the Honda Sensing suite is pretty advanced! It is constantly working to make sure that you and your passengers are as safe as possible while on the road. Scroll down to watch Honda Sensing in action and to learn more about Honda's other safety technologies.
Not only do Honda vehicles provide the best safety system out there-the Honda Sensing suite, they also come equipped with additional safety features! Scroll down to learn more about these additional safety features.

Honda LaneWatch
With Honda LaneWatch when you signal right, a camera on the passenger side mirror will display live video of what is going on behind you, on the Display Audio Touch-Screen. Honda LaneWatch reveals 4x more than the average passenger side mirror!

Blind Spot Information System
When you use your turn signal and your Honda vehicle detects another vehicle in the adjacent lane, the indicator on the mirror blinks and an indicator in the car makes a beeping sound until the area is clear or your turn signal is off.

Cross Traffic Monitor
When you are in reverse and you're in Multi-Angle Rearview Camera viewing mode, you will be alerted when your Honda vehicle detects another vehicle approaching from the side. You will be alerted with a series of beeps and visual indicators on the camera's display.

Auto High-Beam Headlights
When you are driving at night, going above 25 MPH and the headlight lever is in the low-beam setting with the switch rotated to AUTO the headlights system will change between low and high beams depending on your surrounding conditions.
